This standard replaces BS 3100:1991 and includes steel according to the naming convention in EN 10027.
The standard includes cast steel for use in general engineering including machinery, automotive, armament, agriculture etc.
Suffixes are included with the name to identify the heat treatment requirements. i.e +N, +QT etc.
